St. Louis County Schools

The St. Louis County Schools' Community Education program offers a variety of activities to people of all ages and interests. We hold classes of general interest such as crafts, exercise, and cooking; coordinate field trips; provide educational classes in computer application skills, planning for retirement, Early Childhood Family Education and Learning Readiness just to name a few.

June 27, 2011 - St. Louis County Schools Expands Preschool Opportunities!
The St. Louis County School Board has always supported the early childhood programs in the district. At the June 27th board meeting, the board allocated funding to allow the 4 year old Learning Readiness Preschool classes to expand from one full day per week to two full days per week. This move doubles the funding that supported the program. The school board and administration feel this will provide a better transition to the St. Louis County School all day every day kindergarten program. Parents are very excited about this expansion. Children can ride the bus on regular bus routes. Children in the Learning Readiness Preschool Program must be 4 years of age on or before September 1st, 2011.

Funding has also been allocated to provide some opportunities for 3 year olds as well as some community specials. Class schedules are being developed.

The Northland Special Education Cooperative is comprised of 10 cooperating independent school districts in Northeastern Minnesota.. It is held together by a philosophical agreement that handicapped children in a semi-rural area are better served by a group of agencies which share resources.
