This page explains our high school graduation requirements and some requirements for acceptance into college.

Counselor's Corner

Courses and Credits Required for Graduation:

* 4 credits of English (4 years) 
* 4 credits of Social Studies (4 years)
* 3 credits of Science (3 years) 
* 3 credits of Math (3 years) 
* 1 credit of PE (1/2 year in grade 9 and 1/2 year in grade 10)
*.5 credit of Health (1/2 year in grade 10)
* 1 credit of a Fine Arts (Band, Choir, Art, 1 year)
 
* 2 credits of a Foreign Language (required for entrance to a four-year college)

*6.5 to 8.5 elective credits are needed to meet required total.

*24 credits are needed to graduate

Tests Required for Graduation:

Class of 2009:
*BST Reading, Math- taken in 8th grade
*BST Written Composition- taken in 10th grade
 
Class of 2010 and beyond:
*GRAD Writing- taken in 9th grade
*MCA Reading- taken in 10th grade
*MCA Math- taken in 11th grade
 

Possible Tests Required for College Entrance:

*ACT or SAT
*Accuplacer/CPT
 
College test requirements vary, so be sure to check with the colleges you are interested in so you know what to take.
