Reading Counts
Students in the elementary and high
school are using Reading Counts, a computer based quiz
program that is only available at school. Students in
grades 2-6 are given monthly Reading Counts points goals to
achieve. If a student achieves his or her goal by the
last school day of the month he or she will be rewarded with
Book Break Time. Book Break Time is a break from class
doing different activities each month.
Reading Minutes Books
Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade
are asked to read a certain amount of minutes per month on
their own or with an adult. This time helps them to
gather book knowledge and grow as a reader. As the
students progress they may move up to doing Reading Counts
quizzes instead of Minutes Books.
